@jazz4 One thing that I do not like about his book and others alike is that at some point they tell the reader and try to sell moving to Hollywood. Going to Hollywood in this day in age would be foolish I think. If you have a computer with up to date software, a camera, and? some high wattage lights you can mimick a Hollywood production. The only thing that is completely necessary is a story that could blow even Hollywood's socks off no matter how rough or primitive the film looks.

People need to realise that Hollywood isn't the utopia for film anymore, world and independent cinema is schooling the system horribly. I've heard nothing but horror stories for writers in Hollywood - even the? best. I like Syd Field though, he's very helpful. But dear god, don't tell me Titanic is what inspires you.
